Pauline French qualified in the “Five Element” tradition of acupuncture in 1978 at the College of Traditional Acupuncture, after a three year course. She gained a Licentiate in Acupuncture, and membership of the Traditional Acupuncture Society in 1979. Three years earlier, she qualified as SRN, RSCN at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children. Twenty years later, she completed a further two years of training in traditional Chinese medicine. Combining the two approaches brings about a relief of symptoms, and strengthens any underlying weak areas of energy.

In 1999, she completed a course at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, integrating Five Element acupuncture with Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 2006 she trained in the use of Patent Herbal Remedies.
In December 2008 she joined the Zita West network for reproductive help as an affiliated acupuncturist, using acupuncture to treat fertility problems, pregnancy and post natal care.
She has four children - now all nearly grown up. Her interests include nature, gardening, pilates, walking her dog, photography and spending time with friends and family.
