Frances Patterson

Frances Patterson has been practising holistic therapies for several years; she began as a Swedish massage therapist, progressing to Thai massage in 2001; Frances studied Traditional Thai Bodywork (generally known as Thai Massage) with the British School of Thai Massage and Thai Yoga, and subsequently in Thailand at the Classic Touch School of Thai Massage in Chiang Mai.  Frances has also studied Thermal Auricular Therapy and Oriental Massage and often uses a combination of disciplines in her treatments to achieve the best results.  She joined the Clinic in 2006.

Swedish Massage

Oil massage is really beneficial for relieving the pain and discomfort caused by poor posture, driving and extensive computer use; it is also one of the best anti-stress treatments, a full body massage really works for lifting your mood and promoting deep relaxation.  Frances generally uses blended aromatherapy oils, but if you have a nut allergy or are sensitive to essential oils, then she is quite happy to use a plain oil, such as grapeseed or apricot kernel.

Thai Massage

Originally designed to relieve the aches and pains of monks, post meditation, Thai Massage was subsequently found to have amazing benefits for the mind and body, relieving stress, back pain, joint pain, headaches, insomnia and fatigue, while at the same time improving flexibility and posture.

Thai massage begins with the feet and ends with a head massage, in between your whole body is stretched and manipulated in a slow, meditative and rhythmic manner.  As a client you will need to wear loose, comfortable clothing and be comfortable with massage on a futon on the floor, rather than on a couch.

Thermal Auricular Therapy

Thermal Auricular Therapy, sometimes known as Hopi Ear Candling is a relaxing treatment that helps to draw old, impacted wax out of the ears (a mild suction effect is created by inserting a lit, hollow candle into the ear opening).  This soothing and relaxing treatment incorporates a head and shoulder massage.

Frances also works as a beauty consultant at SkinPerfect.
